The October meeting will be held on October 23 at the Library Center.  We
will be having our annual elections for officers.  These are the people who
determine what topics are covered and help improve the user group.  If you
are interested in serving or know someone you think would do a good job, we
will be open for nominations at the meeting.

We will also be having a presentation on Windows Communication Foundation
(WCF) and food provided by Tek Systems.  Jennifer Taylor, their local
representative, will be giving an overview of the employment situation as
she sees it in Springfield.

If you aren't busy (or it's something you can put off, like mowing the lawn)
on October 19,20 you should be in Tulsa.  I was at Tulsa TechFest last year
and it was great.  They have enough sponsorship that it's free.  They're
giving away computers and prizes galore.  They have 16 tracks so your
problem will probably be that you can't see everything you want.  It's only
a few hours away and the speakers are world class.  Check it out at
